The official launch event will take place via a Zoom videoconference at 16:00 GMT on January 27, 2022. Those wishing to attend must register through this Eventbrite link.

Co-founder Tim lang, professor emeritus at City University of London, says: “Poor nutrition should not be a compromise to cause less damage to the environment; just as labor rights, land tenure or food security should not be compromised – we need to look at all of these impacts.

“I first proposed a multicriteria approach to food standards over ten years ago, and now the technology allows it.

“It’s time to create a comprehensive and harmonized framework for food measures that can serve as a resource for the entire food system. “

OmniAction co-founder Anya Doherty, CEO of Feeding stagessays, “We need a North Star when it comes to benchmarking food sustainability.

“Right now, it’s too easy for companies to play their part on food labels, especially when it comes to environmental impact. We see it almost every day.

“We need a framework to agree which impacts will be considered, and then we need to provide guidance to monitor those impacts. “

OmniActionco-founder and Executive Director Lise Colyer also leads the writing of Media Quota. She adds, ” One third of all greenhouse gas emissions come from the food industry; experts describe the supply chain as plagued by child labor and forced labor; and poor and inadequate food is the world’s biggest killer. There is an urgency to this.

“Each CEO is under direct or indirect pressure in terms of sustainable development and ESG reporting. “

United Nations scientific experts said the real impacts of the food system, including labor rights and poor environmental practices, cost society twice the value of the sector – US $ 19.8 trillion. This was emphasized in the The true value of food report published by the Food Reform for Sustainability & Health project of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

OmniAction will address continuous data improvements, moving towards a comprehensive framework addressing environmental impact, labor rights, land sovereignty, food security and nutrition.

This will foster a consumer environment that advances health and sustainability. And this in turn will promote changes in industry and political environments.

The launch team invites those who wish to participate in show interest and to join the official launch event.
