‘Cover of Covers’ will feature artists covering songs from artists who have already made the cover of the magazine.

Ahead of the release, you can hear the acoustic version of Metric’s “Blindness” from their 2009 album “Fantasies”, as well as EMA’s piano interpretation of Modest Mouse’s “Trailer Trash”.

Other artists who appear on the album include Girl Ray covering Haim, Sondre Lerche covering Mitski and Alex Lahey covering St Vincent. You can see the full album tracklist below.

Commenting on Blindness, Jason Lytle of Grandaddy said, “I am a huge fan of Metric. I once drove from Bozeman to Salt Lake City (9 hour drive) to see them play live. I don’t even like going to shows. That says a lot.

I chose “Blindness” because it’s one of my favorite songs since I first heard it in 2009. I recorded and mixed everything in my garage, and I enjoyed following this line trying to emulate some of the original sounds and ‘feels’, but also making it mine a bit, and have a bit of fun. “

‘Cover of Covers’ will be released on March 4, 2022 via American Laundromat and $ 1 from each album sale will be donated to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.
